The ruins of Hampi are spread over a vast area, and they include numerous temples, palaces, market streets, fortifications, and other structures.

The architecture of Hampi is a blend of Hindu and Islamic styles, reflecting the diverse cultural influences of the Vijayanagara Empire. Some of the most notable structures in Hampi include the Virupaksha Temple, Vittala Temple, Lotus Mahal, and the Elephant Stables.

Apart from its historical and architectural significance, Hampi is also known for its stunning landscape, with giant boulders scattered across the terrain, lush banana plantations, and the Tungabhadra River flowing through the area.

Today, Hampi is a popular tourist destination and a pilgrimage site for Hindus. Visitors come from all over the world to explore its rich history, marvel at its impressive architecture, and soak in its unique atmosphere.

GOLDEN TEMPLE

The Golden Temple, also known as Sri Harmandir Sahib, is the holiest Gurdwara and the most important pilgrimage site for Sikhs. It is located in Amritsar, Punjab, India. The temple was founded by the fourth Sikh Guru, Guru Ram Das, in the 16th century, with the construction completed by Guru Arjan Dev, the fifth Sikh Guru, in 1604.

The Golden Temple is renowned for its stunning architecture and its central sanctum, which houses the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism. The temple is surrounded by a sacred pool, known as the Amrit Sarovar, which is believed to have healing properties. The complex also includes other important buildings, such as the Akal Takht, which is the highest seat of religious authority for Sikhs.

One of the most striking features of the Golden Temple is its gilded exterior, which gives it a golden appearance, especially when illuminated at night. The temple is a symbol of Sikh identity, spirituality, and egalitarianism, welcoming people of all faiths and backgrounds.

Every day, thousands of pilgrims and visitors from around the world come to the Golden Temple to pay their respects, participate in religious ceremonies, and partake in the langar, a free communal meal that is served to all visitors regardless of their religion, caste, or social status. The Golden Temple is not just a religious site but also a symbol of peace, harmony, and service to humanity.

LADDAKH

Ladakh is a region in the northernmost part of the Indian-administered union territory of Ladakh, which was formed in 2019 after the Indian government reorganized the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is bordered by the Tibet Autonomous Region to the east, the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh to the south, the Pakistani-administered territory of Gilgit-Baltistan to the west, and the Indian-administered region of Jammu and Kashmir to the southwest.

Ladakh is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, including high-altitude deserts, rugged mountains, and deep valleys. It is often referred to as the “Land of High Passes” due to its numerous mountain passes, some of which exceed 5,000 meters (16,400 feet) in elevation. The region is also home to several glacial rivers, including the mighty Indus and Zanskar rivers.

Culturally, Ladakh is influenced by Tibetan Buddhism, and it is home to numerous monasteries, stupas, and gompas (Tibetan Buddhist temples). The monasteries of Hemis, Thiksey, and Diskit are among the most famous and culturally significant in the region. Ladakh is also known for its vibrant festivals, such as the Hemis Festival, which celebrates the birth anniversary of Guru Padmasambhava, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism.
